A Statement by Cathi Herrod, President, Center for Arizona Policy Action

The abortion industry’s effort to safeguard its business brings a new radical ballot measure to Arizona, courtesy of outside money and special interests. We know from their measures in other states that these efforts reach beyond Roe with near universal exceptions that allow abortion past the point at which the unborn baby feels horrible pain and to the point of birth. These measures also threaten parental rights, leaving parents out of their daughter’s most consequential decisions.

We will do a thorough analysis of the language to discern the impact on Arizonans and their families. Our initial viewing of the measure reveals an extreme power grab by an industry that sees no limits to abortion. That is not where Arizonans are on the issue, and we are confident that Arizonans will reject this radical measure.

After I review the language, I will have further comment.
